How does ImagineBuddies keep conversations safe?
ImagineBuddies uses a 3-layer safety system. First, a strict safety rulebook runs before every response and overrides the character personality. Second, any topic parents submit is automatically screened for safety before a call is scheduled. What kinds of things will the characters never do?
Characters will never ask for personal information, request photos, suggest meeting in real life, keep secrets from parents, discuss romantic or physical topics, or create emotional dependency. Safety rules always override the character personality. Read more on our Safety page.
What happens if my child says something concerning?
If a child mentions something important — like feeling unsafe, pain, strangers, or secrets — the character does not investigate. Instead it encourages the child to talk with a parent or trusted adult right away and redirects the conversation.
Can parents see what happened during a call?
Yes. Every call appears in the parent dashboard with helpful insights like duration, character used, and time of call so parents have full visibility into how their child is using ImagineBuddies.
Does my child need a screen?
No. Kids interact through simple phone calls, creating a magical experience without more screen time.
What can I schedule?
Parents can schedule calls with a character, pick the time, and optionally suggest a topic like a bedtime story, encouragement before school, or talking about their day.
Our Story
I built ImagineBuddies for my son because I wanted something that felt magical and educational without adding more screen time. I wanted him to be able to talk, imagine, learn, and have fun with characters — while still giving me confidence that the experience was safe and parent-controlled.
That is what ImagineBuddies is meant to be: joyful for kids, useful for parents, and simple enough to become part of everyday routines like bedtime, mornings, and after-school moments.
